Privacy Policy — Make Maps Normal Again

Last updated: August 30, 2026

Make Maps Normal Again (MMNA) does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal user data.

Local Storage

MMNA stores its enabled/disabled state locally in the user’s browser so the extension can remember whether it is turned on.

This information is not transmitted to the developer or any third party.

Google Maps and Search Settings

MMNA accesses Google Maps to provide its map functionality and display a small number of satirical map annotations.

When the user enables or disables MMNA, the extension accesses Google Search Settings to change the user’s Results Region. This allows Google Maps to use Google’s own regional map labels.

These interactions occur directly between the user’s browser and Google. MMNA does not collect or receive the user’s Google account information, browsing history, search history, authentication information, or other personal information.

Analytics and Tracking

MMNA does not use analytics, advertising, tracking, telemetry, or behavioral profiling.

Data Sharing

MMNA does not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data to third parties.

Changes to This Policy

If MMNA’s data practices change in a future version, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.
